Midnight Sun Mining advances three targets in Zambia exploration campaign

Midnight Sun Mining Corp (TSX-V:MMA, OTCQB:MDNGF) said on Wednesday it is making steady progress on its 2025 phase one exploration campaign at the Solwezi project in Zambia, with work underway across all three of its priority targets.
The company reported that an IP geophysical survey at the Dumbwa target is about 30% complete, diamond drilling is set to begin later this week at Kazhiba, and a partial ionic leach sampling program at Mitu is nearly halfway finished.
“We believe these targets have the potential to evolve into world-class copper discoveries,” said CEO Al Fabbro. “This marks the first time our targets are being explored with such a rigorous and comprehensive methodology.”
Fabbro credited the program’s design to Chief Operating Officer Dr Kevin Bonel, whose approach to exploration at Barrick’s Lumwana Mine helped transform it into a Tier 1 copper project.
At the Dumbwa target, where a 20-kilometre copper-in-soil anomaly had been previously outlined, about 24 of 34 planned geophysical lines have been cleared and prepared, with IP surveying completed on 10 lines. The company said this survey is intended to generate detailed subsurface profiles to guide targeted drilling that will begin after survey results are received.
Drilling soon at Kazhiba
Drilling at the Kazhiba sulphide copper target is expected to begin by the end of May. Midnight Sun is planning to complete six to eight diamond drill holes totaling approximately 1,000 metres at the Kazhiba Target 2 area.
The target spans roughly four by two kilometres and is supported by multiple layers of geochemical and geophysical data, including elevated copper results in partial ionic leach tests and a strong VTEM anomaly.
A separate 4,000-metre reverse circulation (RC) drill program is planned for the Kazhiba oxide copper targets following the completion of ongoing geochemical sampling at the nearby Mitu trend.
Mitu sampling nearing halfway mark
At Mitu, the company said 46% of a planned 1,800-sample partial ionic leach program has been completed, with sampling expected to conclude in about two weeks. The results will inform a follow-up IP survey to prioritize drill targets.
Previous drilling at Mitu intersected high-grade copper mineralization, including 11.6 metres grading 3.44% copper and 11.5 metres at 1.41% copper.
Midnight Sun said the combination of ionic leach sampling and geophysics is key to identifying copper targets in the region, where traditional geochemical methods have proven less effective due to the regolith cover.
