Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC (AIM:CMCL, NYSE-A:CMCL) said chief financial officer Chester Goodburn is to step down on March 24 after overseeing the company’s full-year results. He will be replaced immediately by Ross Jerrard, subject to routine checks.
Goodburn, who has been CFO since July 2022, will stay on briefly as a consultant to ensure a smooth handover.
Jerrard, 50, brings a wealth of experience from his time as CFO at Centamin, the gold miner formerly listed on the FTSE 250.
He helped oversee its $2.5 billion acquisition by AngloGold Ashanti in 2024. Centamin’s key asset was the Sukari gold mine in Egypt, one of the world's biggest gold producers, churning out 450,000 ounces per year.
CEO Mark Learmonth said: "Chester has made a substantial contribution to Caledonia's growth since he joined us in 2014, the last two-and-a-half years as CFO.
"Along with the board and his colleagues, I thank him for his time at Caledonia and we wish him well in his future endeavours.
"I am pleased to welcome Ross to Caledonia. He brings a depth and breadth of experience which will be invaluable to Caledonia as we advance our strategy to become a mid-tier, Zimbabwe-focussed gold producer."
